How I Deal with Procrastination (and How It Led to MCAT.tools)

Procrastination and I go way back. I’ve put things off for all kinds of reasons—sometimes because a task felt too overwhelming, sometimes because I just didn’t know where to start, and sometimes because I overthought it into oblivion. Other times, I’d underestimate the effort needed and push things to the last minute. Sound familiar?

Despite all that, I’ve also found some solid ways to fight back. Making a list helped. Just starting—instead of wasting time deciding how to start—helped. Having a clear plan helped even more.

And that’s exactly why I built MCAT.Tools.

Studying for the MCAT is a monster. It’s one of those tasks that’s so big and intimidating that it’s easy to procrastinate. You tell yourself you’ll start tomorrow… then next week… then, suddenly, the test date is looming, and panic sets in. I wanted a way to break that cycle. I needed a system that would make planning easy, so I could stop overthinking and just get to work.

That’s the idea behind MCAT.Tools—an effortless way to create a study plan that actually keeps you on track. No endless decision-making, no “where do I even begin?” moments—just a straightforward way to focus on what really matters: studying.

So if you struggle with procrastination like I do, just know it’s not about being lazy. It’s about finding the right tools and strategies to push past it. And sometimes, the best way to do that is to just start.
